We are a steel and plant construction company from the Münsterland region. Since 1978, our 130 employees have been planning, manufacturing and erecting plants and plant components for gravel plants, ready-mix concrete plants, asphalt mixing plants and gravel pits throughout Europe.

We offer complete planning of entire plants from the primary crusher to loading. With our own structural engineering department and many years of cooperation with all leading machine manufacturers in the stone and earth industry, we ensure optimum results. Our in-house forwarding department and our fitters operate throughout Europe. We also guarantee extremely short delivery times for repairs and spare parts thanks to our two-shift operation.

We completely rebuild the first concrete plant with an engineering office.

The design department continues to grow and the second CAD system is introduced.

1998

Start with the planning of ballast plants and build the first plant with the use of a tower crane.

Purchase of the neighboring hall with a size of 1,000m² and a plot of 5,500m².

1999

Foundation of another company for surface technology with a 51% shareholding - G & S Oberflächentechnik GmbH

2000

Market development expands to the Eastern European market. The dependence on engineering offices is almost non-existent, the majority of customers are end customers.

The number of employees increases to around 40.

2005

The first major contracts are awarded to us, including the first contract exceeding € 1,000,000.

We have completely built the first ballast plant (without filters and machines).

2006

The first plasma torch is installed in production. Production is converted (many parts are now made from sheet metal). The sheet metal is purchased in coil form.

2007

The first significant folding bench (3,200 mm wide and 220 tons of pressure force) is put into operation. This changeover results in a large increase in turnover.

2008

The first telescopic forklift is purchased (in 2022 there are already 8).

2009

The first lifting platform is purchased (in 2022 already 7 units).

Purchase of a further 1,000 m² of storage space, construction of an additional hall with 630 m² of floor space and commissioning of a new plasma torch.

Our position on the market is strengthened, mainly due to the fact that we have weathered the economic crisis well.

2010

Construction of a further hall with 400m² floor space.

2011

The company's growth accelerates once again.

2013

The first filter is built.

2014/2015

Construction of a new office building with approx. 340m².

2016

Construction of the first large ballast plant with filter systems - the order value is in the eight-figure range.

2019

We invest in a company in the field of electrics and control engineering – K3A electric GmbH  .

2021

We hire a new authorized signatory to ensure the succession of the management. Turnover exceeds the € 20,000,000 mark.

2022

We expand our know-how and our range with the acquisition of Franke Filtertechnik.

The sales department is expanded by 2 new colleagues to generate continuous growth. Thanks to the new hires, Mr. Gerwin can withdraw more and more from the active day-to-day business and concentrate on consulting activities. The number of employees rises again to 130.

2024

Since 01.01.2024 we have been operating as Gerwin Silotechnik GmbH. The shareholders are Michael Gerwin and Marcel Funk, the Managing Director is Marcel Funk.

The change has no impact on direct cooperation. Michael Gerwin, as company founder and long-standing project partner, will also continue to be available in the form known from the past and present.
